Dear Rhonda:
I AM GOOD AT DECORATING HOW WOULD I GO ABOUT MAKING A BUSINESS OF IT
Well…. It takes a lot actually. I am a snob of sorts when it comes to education for interior design. Please see an article I wrote about the business at: http://www.myinteriordecorator.com/student.html

Dear Rhonda:
I am currently taking basics at a community college and I want to transfer to a university to major in interior design. What should I look for in a school that will give me a bachelor's and experience as quick as possible?
Look at the projects they give to work on. Are they real life projects or figments of the professors imagination. When I was in college, we were given projects for real clients and then had to present those ideas to them. It taught EXCELLENT presentation skills and how to work within the constraints of real life. Look for a program that encourages internships. That is where you will get the real experience. Always, always, always make sure the school is FIDER accredited. It shows they are teaching everything they need to be. Good luck and let me know where you end up attending school.
